OUTREACH PROGRAMS/CHARITY EVENTS
We have started being active in our community before going on air. Last year on Mandela Day, We visited an Old Age Home and helped out with cleaning their new stand by cutting down trees, de-weeding the yard. (Kebarona Old Age)
- When we went on air, we did a car wash day for charity. All the proceeds/profit made on the day was used to buy groceries and presents for the elderly (Kebarona Old Age)
- Back-To-School project. This is where we requested the public to bring in old school uniforms to assist those who can’t afford buying uniforms. We collected them and delivered them to Skuinsdrift farm school where they were much needed. While there, we realized that kids in very impoverished backgrounds are also in dire need of cashual clothing too, hence the following initiative…..
- Old Clothes Collection- We took it upon our-selves to start collecting old clothes from those who don’t need them anymore. They were donated to those that are in much need during the launch and still are donating to those who come through in need of them.
- We are keeping our community well informed- We run community announcements for free (If there is a public member who wishes to relay a message to the public eg. school meeting notices etc
- We have donated clothes to a Emang Bomme Social Club in a village that collects clothes for orphanages, Homes based care and the needy
- Another one doing similar things also got clothing donations from Kopanong FM (Give a hand & hope)
